About Ricky Kiser
Ricky Kiser is an author and therapist from Kingsport, Tennessee. He began writing as an anniversary gift for his wife of nearly 31 years; after her passing in early 2025, that project became a way to honor her memory and a lifelong passion for storytelling.
His debut novel, The Echo Rewritten, blends mythic romantic fantasy with psychological-thriller undertones. At its heart are themes of grief, resilience, and finding light in dark places—threads informed by his work in acute psychiatric care, where he witnesses the human spirit’s capacity to heal.
Beyond fantasy (as R. M. Kiser), Ricky is developing faith-based parable retellings, contemporary love stories, and a foster-care series that gives voice to those too often unheard. He is a proud father to a son adopted from foster care at age 11 (now 16), and he volunteers with his local community theater. At home, life is joyfully shared with one rambunctious puppy and three cats.
